UPS Canada (Aruba)

Additional Import Documentation
Goods under IATA Special Provisions A67 require a MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet).

It is not required for all, however shipments can be held by local authority in United Arab Emirates after screening due to lack of MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet) or NON DG (Dangerous Goods) declaration letter from the shipper resulting to misconnections and impacting end-to-end service.

It would be advisable for all shipments originating, transiting and terminating for UAE to have MSDS or NON DG declaration from shipper enclosed in the shipment and copies to be uploaded in IDIS.

Additional Clearance Information

For dutiable non-document shipments, Mason N.V. does the Customs declaration and brokerage and paperwork and then collects import duties from the customer. In some cases, customers do their own paperwork or use a third-party broker for clearance.

Invoice Requirements
Non-document shipments to Aruba must include 1 original and 3 copies of a commercial invoice.

Original invoices on company letterhead are required. Computer-generated invoices, including WorldShip and proforma invoices, are not acceptable. The shipper can not paste a WorldShip invoice on company letterhead. To avoid a Customs hold, all imports into Aruba require an invoice listing the cost of the products and the freight charges separately. All items must have a value. The invoice can not show a zero value. Even if the shipper is sending a warranty item (warranty is not recognized by Aruba Customs)

Shipments of documents do not require an invoice.

The consignee's telephone number must appear on the invoice.

UPS recommends that the shipper send notification of the shipment by faxing the original copy of the invoice to UPS Aruba. Send the fax after the shipment leaves and include the tracking number on the invoice. This expedites the shipment at the time of arrival.

Customs bases duty on cost, insurance, and freight (CIF). Include the commercial freight invoice in the documents sent for Customs clearance in order to receive the correct assessment for duties and taxes.
